A Space to Learn & Share
our purpose
The purpose of Ouachita Parish Youth Commission is to give youth an opportunity to be involved in Ouachita Parish’s government proceedings. OPYC provides a space where students can share their thoughts and learn more about the community. Students selected to serve will discuss important issues in the parish, brainstorm solutions to real problems, and organize events that educate youth in the community.

Member Eligibility + Organization Structure
Ready to Join?
Eight students will be appointed for the 2024 membership year, six representing each district along with two at-large members.

Members must be in their junior year or equivalent of high school at the time of application to be eligible.

We would have biweekly meetings along with monthly community appreciation projects.

We are planning to organize and host six youth events in 2024.
